https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_lY_XD6aVA Trump is the better actor, and Reagan was the better politician - simply because Reagan had much better communication skills. Trump knows how to sell himself better than Reagan. How popular was Ronald Reagan as an actor before he became ...

He was well known, particularly for his movies with Erroyl Flynn like Santa Fe Trail, but was not a top tier movie star.

@oralloy,
Sure. Keep believing that! Honest Abe vs Donald Trump. https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/01/donald-trump-scandals/474726/ From The Atlantic.com:
Quote:
The breadth of Trump’s controversies is truly yuge, ranging from allegations of mafia ties to unscrupulous business dealings, and from racial discrimination to alleged marital rape. They stretch over more than four decades, from the mid-1970s to the present day. To catalogue the full sweep of allegations would require thousands of words and lump together the trivial with the truly scandalous. Including business deals that have simply failed, without any hint of impropriety, would require thousands more. This is a snapshot of some of the most interesting and largest of those scandals.
Abraham Lincoln: America's Greatest President: Abraham Lincoln |

America's Greatest President: Abraham Lincoln. One could begin with his personal qualities and note the encomium of the political historian Thomas A. Bailey of Stanford. Lincoln, he wrote in 1966, was “undeniably a great man…in spirit, in humility, in humanity, in magnanimity, in patience, in Christlike charity, in capacity for growth,...

Well Lincoln did consider a plan for sending back to Africa the free slaves so in that narrow manner Lincoln is similar to Trump with his send her back chanting mobs.

Still to me I can not think of a larger possible insult to any former president then to compare them to a demagogue such as Trump.

Hell there is a picture of Boot listening to Lincoln speaking and due to his conclusion that Lincoln was going to have blacks granted both citizenship and the right to vote decided then and there to go through with the assassination.

He is reforming the nation and moving us into the future.

He is hated by evolutionary throwbacks who want to remain in the past.

His party is going to hold the White House for at least 20 years.

@oralloy,
Reforming the nation would be to put progressive policies and ideals into place. That isn't on his agenda. You mean he's going to hold back the country for 50 years.

Both Republicans
Lincoln was the 16th President, Trump knows the meaning of 16 words

Trump is also comparable to Zachary Taylor, the 12th President, as Taylor had no prior experience in an elected position.

If Trump.follows the example of the both of them, he will be dead before his presidency is completed.

That is incorrect. Reform does not have to mean implementing the left's demented ideology.

Indeed.

No. I mean he's going to take us into the 21st century.

When Lincoln found himself with overwhelming military problems he did not state like Trump that he knew more then all his generals but he did walk over to the library of congress and clear them out on books dealing with military science.

My guess is he read more books on the subject then all the books Trump had read in his lifetime.

And that's a gross understatement. It's evidenced by Trump's inability to use proper English grammar, his spelling, and his ignorance on most subjects.
