I’m down. In San Miguel.

For the week before, and a couple times during the trip, I heard a funny clunking sound in the back of the car. So, I took it to my mechanic down here, Rueben. His business is top notch and he has a number of mechanics and car washers and retailers working for him.
Down here people keep their cars running as long as possible.

I needed an alignment, and they adjusted the brakes. I also got a hand wax and interior/exterior detail. Total cost including a good tip to the washer? About $50 usd.

The day before I had an appointment with the dentist as while in the States I had cracked a molar. The filling from decades ago are starting to fail.
Turns out the crack went down under the gum line It was a back molar so I wasn’t interested in saving it, so she said let’s just extract.
She just did it right then and it cost me a hundred bucks.

Can you imagine the cost, and all the rigamarole that would have entailed in the US? In my area about $400 plus at least 3 office visits.

Do fish sneeze?

Not up to this point in time. It was agreed they'd be spared from that in exchange for always being in water...


In other news, it turns out that Adderall can destroy a brain. And even though Towel-Rack Guy babbles about it not being an opioid it is indeed highly addictive.especially for someone who had a history of substance abuse.

I gotta ask.

Who is Towel Rack Guy?

He was calling something hanging over the door with hooks a "towel rack"

Turns out he bought another one that was almost the same.

It did however have a bar on it....along with hooks.
It's also thicker at the top where (you guessed it) it hangs over the door.
Again, this is NOT really a towel rack.

anyway, he was not able to close the door with this on top so he took some sort of chisel and gouged out grooves for it to set in.



SO, towel-rack has been popping Adderall on and off for the last year. That explains a few things....but not that thing he calls a towel rack (which still refuses to hold towels).

Christ on a cracker, I'm getting sooooo old.
