59d is probably "draughts" (known as 'checkers' in US)
When asking for help it's a good idea to indicate any intersecting letters you already have. If you had, someone might have been able to help you with all of them, earlier.
I'm 3 books behind you, having just completed the comp puzzles in the May 'Big', entries for which are due by Thurs (26th). Then there's 'ClueWords' #55 and 'Starhunts' #33 - both of which are due by June 2. By then the next 'Big' will be out (closing the last Thurs in June). THEN I can do the 'Colossus' puzzles - which have to be in by Bastille Day!
I'm way behind with doing the puzzles as I've been moving house and lucky I put the mags in a safe place so I had a chance of getting the entries posted in time! I usually like to post them the Thurs before they're due..
You haven't included which country you live in so your due date(s) may be different.
Thank you people

Clary- wash is good
Shekeda- draughts works and fits with wash
I am in Pakistan. I subscribe to the UK magazines and have to post my entries at least ten days before due date to cater for the odd 'slow pony'. The Cryptic is due in 16 Jun. I still have a fortnight before dispatch. Have noted the suggestion to include intersecting letters
