Maybe, maybe not, but with the Olympics in London, you're going to see a surge in U.S. investment and advertising unseen since just after WWII. We will own you. Wink

The US will invest and advertise here, good, and then they will own....what, exactly?
There is heavy UK and Irish investment in the States, btw.

You may be confusing investment with brand image.
We may accept Wal-Mart or McDonalds in Europe, but the US public is more resistant to foreign brand names. Hence, investment is behind the scenes.
Scotland owns most of Texas, for example.

Scotland owns most of Texas? Really? And why?

Do they allow public hunting on their landholdings?

GWB lives in a place called Crawford. There is a clue there. It is a Scottish name, as is Houston.
Scottish finance, as well as its people, was instrumental in developing that state, and still plays a major part.
You may be more Jock than you think.

Well if the Chinese are going to own the USA its probably a good thing that the USA will own us rather than all the Asian/M.E outfits that are trying to edge there way in!
So where shall we go......?

Canada seems like a peaceful place to live, except we'll have to get used to the cold.
