I'm a GCSE student studying Maths at Higher Level, but I'm having problems with trigonometry. I just can't understand it, no matter what anyone tells me. Can someone please just explain the basics of trigonometry to me in simple terms that I can understand?

Thanx.

That cos(x)*cos(x)+sin(x)*sin(x)=1 means that

u=cos(x)
w=sin(x)

determine the Cartesian coordinate (u, w) of a point P on the unit circle u*u+w*w=1. In this case x is the length of the arc from O(0,0) to P(u,w) along the circle (the unit is called "radian").
