As far back as I can remember, I have always worn the loose kind of boxer shorts. Lately when I go to a department store or any store that sells men’s clothing, it is really hard to find regular style boxer short. I feel like society is forcing me to switch to boxer briefs, which I personally find uncomfortable and just can’t get used to wearing. Has anyone else had this issue?

Yes, I can do that - it’s just an observation. Just hope companies don’t stop making them.

I haven't found that to be true. Everywhere around here stocks boxer shorts. I alternate between loose boxers and boxer briefs depending on my mood. I think that more men are choosing boxer briefs which may account for some of your observation.
All of the clothing stores around here stock them.

I mostly buy my underclothes on Amazon. Can't remember the last time I bought socks or underwear in a store.
So? I can't give any anecdotal evidence on what brick and mortar stores (mainly department stores) sell in this department. Boxers ... to me when I did shop in dept stores were tad too expensive (per unit pricing wise)... so I'm interested in if anyone is doing any new subscription business model ... but for underwear.
