Does the German noun Ei [ai] "egg" relate to the Russian яйцо [iaitso] "egg", because this word relate to Old Slavonic аице [aitse], where це [tse] may be a suffix, by analogy with the other Old Slavonic words:

okno "window" -> okontse "small window"

bliudo "dish" -> bliudtse "small dish"

derevo "tree" -> derevtse "small tree"
