I'm planning to travel from Barcelona to Pamplona on July 7th this summer to experience the first day or two of the Running of the Bulls. Friends and I are planning to sleep in the park since the lodging is so expensive. Does anyone have any suggestions of places to see or things to do or maybe some tips on staying safe/not getting killed by bulls during our stay?
thruthfully I don't care for bullfighting because of the gore and all that but some of those matadors are pretty nice-looking!
I understand that the smart money is on the bulls rather than the drunks.
Lonely Planet's Thorn Tree may be a better site to ask this question.
Me - let the bulls go free!
Hi all
Running of the bulls, bullfighting and all those nasty things should be forbidden. It is a shame that an european country keeps these barbaric acts.
Pamplona is the clear example about it doesn´t have to be done.
Besides, there is a "funny" paradox. I don´t know if runners run in front of bulls or viceversa. Bulls must be afraid of other kind of animals.
Is this progress? Anyway, what can you expect about a country where last year 98.000 dogs were forsaken on roads and streets?
Regards
It wouldn't be a bad idea to run with the bulls. I always wondered if I could run faster than the bulls or vice versa.
The bulls can definately outrun you, Duke. Fortunately, they're not really out to get you.
A friend of mine snapped this shot a couple of years ago.
I sure miss him.
Lovely pic LionTamer---I've always wanted to go to Pamplona and Spain in general I guess!
