Hi everyone,

Just saying hello to the 'day' people. I'm off sick from work...already bored!

Would someone mind entertaining me?

Why don't we all have a sing-a-long! Very Happy

Quote:
Yes! We Have No Bananas

1. There's a fruit store on our street,
It's run by a Greek.
And he keeps good things to eat
But you should hear him speak.
When you ask him anything
He never answers "No."
He just "Yesses" you to death,
And as he takes your dough,
He tells you:
(chorus)

YES! We have no bananas,
We have no bananas today.
We've string beans and HON-ions,
Cab-BAH-ges and scallions
And all kinds of fruit, and say
We have an old fashioned to-MAH-to,
Long Island po-TAH-to,
But YES! We have no bananas.
We have no bananas today.

2. Business got so good with him
He wrote home to say:
"Send me Pete and Nick and Jim,
I need help right away."
When he got them in the store,
There was fun, you bet!
Someone asked for "Sparrow grass,"
And the whole quartet
All answered:

Thanks Phoenix!

I've just been reading an article on Breast Feeding Terrorists in this weekends Guardian...apparently, these woman are more militant in the US than the UK. They advocate breast feeding until the child no longer wants to! In some cases this can be as old as eight!

I breast fed my daughter until she was 18 months, but eight makes me feel squeemish...do you think it should! Am I a victim of the enduring, ever present cynical (Male) advertisers who insist on sexuallising the breast...or do you think it's a bit much as well...

I'm in two minds, and would welcome your thoughts.

Manchester England, England
Across the Atlantic Sea
And I'm a genius, genius
And I believe in God
And I believe that God
Believes in Claude
That's me
That's me

Only song i know which refers to Manchester.

Smorgs- Personally, I think that breastfeeding past the age of infancy is NOT healthy, both for the mother, and the baby. Both people need to begin to wean themselves from the tight symbiotic relationship they have when the child is a newborn. I would suspect that any mother who thinks that it is appropriate to breastfeed her kid after infancy has bats in her belfry.

How does the mother handle lunch when the kid is in school??? Laughing

Nah, I'm not good at these things.
Anyway:

Aquarius

The lunar forces create some uncertainty in the day and there is a possibility of misleading information coming your way. A family matter could be confusing you too, with two steps forward one step back. You won't make any headway on it today though. A lack of self-esteem is behind a family outburst today, handle tenderly.

Rolling Eyes
Now THAT's supposed to cheer you up?
Never mind, it's an Oz horoscope. I'm sure it doesn't apply to Manchester folk!

What's the problem, Sarah? The flu?

No don't be msolga...I'm ever the optomist. Besides I don't feel like it is, and I sort of 'knew' when I was ill before. I'm going to take my Mum's old border collie (Bumble) for a walk by the river (Mersey) now, and then go and pick my granddaughter (Leila) up from school. I'm taking things 'easy' for a week, that's all, and an official 'sick note' is assuaging any guilt I feel for not being in work!

Elections, shmelections
voting, shmoting

I've made my choice, watched all coverage and now it's getting tedious:

the race card
the war card
the health card
the psychologists telling you which smile is sincere

If mastubation is evil, so is electioneering

Of course it does! Ask McTag...I live just near the mersey, the bit where all the golf links are (Mersey Links). My daughter lives even nearer, on the flood plain.

For a moment there I got Manchester confused with Liverpool. Gerry & the Pacemakers, & all that ....

(Night night, Sarah. Off to bed now. It's getting late & the cat is getting edgy, waiting at the door for me.)
