No one ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American public.
-- H. L. Mencken
(At any event, i've always heard that statement attributed to him--now watch someone come along and deny it.)

I was at a wedding last spring where a couple of girls had this going on -- and backless dresses to show 'em off.

I'm officially an old fogey. Tats and many varieties of piercings, fine. I'm not even opposed to those giant earlobe stretchers. But this is just... ouch.

I guess I kind of see it in line with all the other stuff. I imagine you'd have to take the rings out if you gained enough weight.

Evidently you have to take the rings out no matter what, it's meant to be temporary. But yeah, the snagging thing is the first thing I think of. I saw someone get an earring torn out of her ear once, not a nice sight 'tall...

Yeech.
I always worry about those with eyebrow piercings... I'm concerned that they'll go for a hike and sneeze while too close to a tree.

As usual, the fantasy industry is way ahead of the curve on this sort of thing . . .

man, if she got one of those caught by a moving car, her whole skin would come off. like a snake. except, chances for regenaration are far far weaker.
