Poetry Assignment!!!!

Hey, I was wondering if you could help me with an English
Assignment, because I need to get a good mark so that I can
go into English 30-1. I need to get into that course because
I am wanting to do programming (computer) or computer
hardware/software engineer. English is not a strong subject
of mine, so if you guy's could help me get through this
course that would be so nice. Well, this is my assignment.


Poetry Assignment

Eglish 20-1


Poetry. Mixed feelings, right? Let's work on the positive
ones. Don't be afraid of poetry. Don't hate it without a
reason although, admittedly, some poetry is worth hating.
There is a great eal of good poetry in existence. There is,
also, something for everyone.


Pick a certain theme, ie love, death, night etc or you can
pick a certain poet. Either you choose to stick with a
certain poet or a certain theme.


Details of Assignment:

Pick out a total of 8 poems. There will be one poem as an
example for each of the following categories:

1) Firgurative language (metaphor, simile, AND
personifcation in one poem.

2) Imagery (must appeal to at least 4 different senses)

3) Musical Devices (at least 3 elements)

4) Allusion (1 good one will do)

5) Pattern (at least 2 forms)

6) Connotation (at least 5 "loaded" words... examples are
angel, love, death, etc)

7) Symbolism (at least 2 strong symbols and what they
represent)

8) A poem that has at least five of the above!!


That is my assignment. To find 8 poems that satisfy the
above numbers. For example, the first poem must have a
metaphor, simile, AND personification. The 6th poem must
have connotation -- at least 5 "loaded" words.


8 Poems, each fufilling the appropriate things.


If you guy's could really help me, that would be so, so,
so great, considering this might be the assignment that
decides if I go to English 30-1 or not. If I don't, my
career may take a turn for the worse.
