The president will give his State of the Union speech on Tuesday. I am really curious how the speechwriters are going to deal with the rhetorical problem... painting a picture of a strong, united, prosperous union in a speech that will likely declare a National Emergency.
This is going to be a very awkward speech, a challenge for even a talented orator...
If you were hired as Trump speech writer (with the assumption that you sincerely want to help advance Trump's agenda) what would you write?
@maxdancona,
This is Trump you're writing about. Given his past shows, there's no guarantee he'll stay on topic following the speech written for him.
I would discuss historically low rates of unemployment. I would talk about all the things Dems have voted for in the past and how now is the time to get the work done! I would get the ball in the Dem court so they can look like fools when they all the sudden don't want America to succeed.
@McGentrix,
Work and Trump. Two things that have never fit together. Work would involve his being able to discuss matters rationally and to consider suggestions offered.
