That's the first version, I remember, but it was summer and we didn't have access to cars and car radios. (we were too young We listed to rock on transistor radios, or some of the AM stations that James Brown owned, or big Maybell's or to Hoppy Adams from Annapolis. I remember listening to Fat Daddy in the early morning hours Buddy Deane showcased a lot of soul talent , the kids (,like me, were ecstatic". I thought the Trashmen wrote the song but I didn't learn until about 5 years ago that the Rivertions did it before the Trashman.
