Trump’s government shutdown, longest in history

Trump told everybody that his shutdown can go on for years. He doesn’t care for the 800,000 workers and their families’ mental and physical health. It’s worse than a war. Many will suffer death and injury perpetrated by this president, because those without income cannot buy their medications, or see their doctor. This irresponsible man-child is destroying the health of our country. Trump’s war against our own citizens is the crime of the century. Why is congress so helpless against this monster? They are complecet, and all must be removed to save this country and democracy.

@cicerone imposter,
The federal government has shut down twenty times since 1976 for periods up to three weeks. Nobody ever noticed. The only reason this one gets any notice is that it is blamed on Trump, and Trump-haters are beating it like a drum.

@Jewels Vern,
Trump does more damage to our country beyond the government shutdown. I’m not going to waste my time trying to explain it to you beyond Trump’s racial bigotry and his pathological lying.

If it were a shutdown like the ones in the past, it would be harmful but we could get over it. Trumps is causing a pressure within the system of checks and balances that threatens to explode the whole works.

What the hell are you talking about? Are you under 18? People have made a big deal out of every government shutdown. They obviously become a bigger and bigger deal the longer they go on.

This Trump as victim thing is interesting.... do you ever wonder why Trump is such a victim? It isn't like other presidents didn't have people who hated them ... Trump is the only one who whines about it.

@maxdancona,
Trump is the only one declared by those close to him as a "child."

You must be politically blind or just a really poor liar.

All of the previous shutdowns have made national news for what it's worth. Hundreds of thousands if not millions of people have noticed. Your hyperbolic criticism is 100% invalid here.

. You're kidding, right? How can those without income and family's not notice? Are you truly that ignorant? It goes beyond those families; it's the renters, suppliers of goods and services, utility companies, and all those they have done business with. It also affects the family members who cannot pay for food, transportation, and whatever payments they have. Some people like Trump who grew up with a silver spoon in their mouth never learned about the hardships of the poor and many middle class families.

@cicerone imposter,
many of these Trump toadies like to play the "you think its bad today, you remember under( submit name of a Democratic Presient) what it was like???"

Thats the dumbest kind of evidence to support someones proposition. Just because it was bad then, is that a reason to ignore it now??

Trumpies want us all to look the other way while he rapes and destroys our country and turns its remnanta over to his Russian .

puppeteers.

Remember "DRAIN THE SWAMP"--Hes merely stocked a pond with self-dealing wallye pike.

:MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN"--when's he gonna start that one?? Im tired of seeing the old geezers with the MAGA hats on and looking like theyve been fucked and not even dined.

@farmerman,
Their attempts at diversion is not going to work. Those 800,000 workers are living with Trump's lockout now! Only a tyrant like Trump who admires Putin will never understand what good leadership is all about. It's just a wonder that those who worked for Trump has not complained except those in his administration who tagged him as an unstable child, and an idiot.

@farmerman,
The good things Trump has done. Tax reform that gave most of the benefit to corporations and the rich. Tariffs, that added cost to all consumers. A wall that will cost tens of billions to build and maintain, but will fail its primary purpose. It will, however, be a permanent memorial to Donald Trump that will outlive all of us. Those 800,000 workers without pay will remember him for a very long time. Hopefully, their memory is good enough to last until the next election cycle.
