How to get an European Passport

Hey,
I'd like to know how one can get a european passport as my girlfriend from New Zealand has just come over to live with me.
She wants to study here but The tuitition fees for non EU/EAA-applicants are generally way above 4000€ per year. That is unfortunately too expensive for us to afford.
So we thought if she could somehow get an european passport then she would have to pay the normal rates. One way of course is to marry but I do not know how quickly one could receive citizenship through that.
I am an 18 year old German, and she is an 18 year old from New Zealand. She has no connections to Europe (none of her ancestors came from Europe). Only a few relatives living in the UK. She does not speak German so far but maybe in a few months time.
We've been living here in germany for only a month now.
I would be very grateful for any ideas or hints that you can give me
Thank you very much
Konrad

Well, you don't become a German by marriage automatically - it takes at least three more years. (This would be good, because your friend could learn the language during that time - bad, however, because in six semesters she could have got a BA already  )

I don't think any EU-state will offer citizenship/nationality just because someone can't pay the university fees.

Being able to speak German would not only make life easier for your friend here in Germany but especially studying.

Since, however, she speaks English, you could consider to study there - but there, you, jippie, had to pay the fees. Crying or Very sad
(An aside: as far as I know, until now most universities are still free of charge here - how do you get those 4000€? Even a second university study doesn't cost more than 1,300 Euros here in Northrhine-Westphalia!)

I would just send her to France, tell her to hide herself in a lorry en route to Britain until she is discovered in England. She then tells the Authorities that she is an active North African terrorist that requires asylum, and Hey Presto!!

There's no immediate way i think. Though NZ is a common wealth contury to the UK, She can definitely reside in the UK but i guess if she want to become a citizen of UK, she still need to live in the UK for some years.

What a shame, isn't it?
England is letting in basically everyone from the Middle East and Africa with no background check whatsoever. We'll just have to wait and see when the terrorists start bombing England.
I think in two or three years middle easterners will be a majority. Again, we'll just have to wait.

Are you talking here about history or what is happening now/the last couple of years?

If the latter, I would appreciate to get a source for that or listen to your personal experiences.

I went to England to visit some relatives from my father's side three years ago.
While I was there all I saw was pakis, indies and god knows what else.
We were all shocked at the big change in Egland.
I thought I was visiting a Middle Eastern country. My father even asked someone if we were really in England. Laughing

And that the proof for what?
Did you or your father see their passports or visas?
Did you or your father watch that they were let in with no background check whatsoever?
Do you think, "The Prince" likes to be called an 'indie'? (He's British, btw, and some hundreds of his employees understand his English very well.)

When you say, you were shocked at the big change in England - to what years do you compare that?

Ohhhh Lord, what are you? the FBI?? lol

Did my father and I see the passports? Well, yea we own it. lol
We don't need visas to travel outside the US.
We didn't really go throw "background check." They just stamped our passports and that was it.
No, "The prince" doesn't like to be called indie. Rolling Eyes
My father was shocked at the big change in England. He stayed there with his relatives for a couple of yrs. when he was young and he says it' wasn't as "infested" as it was 15-20 yrs. ago. My father has always been opposed to the open borders and the poor immigration policies in England.

Perhaps Peter Ackroyd's "London - The Biography" would be a good read ...

I agree with your father! The UK is really the tips now and perhaps the recent suicide bombing will awaken everybody to the reality of disasterous mutli-cultural policies of the past years. I too feel like a foreigner when visiting my home country. I always say that I'm English NOT British which seems to be the collective word for all and sundry. At least in Stuttgart we don't have to see Mosques changing the traditional architecture of our city unlike in England where they are dotted all over the place. My feeling is when in Rome do as the Romans do but sadly our authorities, the PC liberal brigade have decided that we should all hold hands and ride the same camel! It just so happens that it really does suit England's green and pleasant land! Very Happy
