He can think his TV on or off.

He learned in early trials to move a cursor around a computer screen by imagining his hand moving.

He might be able to turn lights on or off soon.

In many ways the brain is electrical. It is very low voltage and amperage cause the whole thing seems to run at about 20 watts. Memory is different from digital memory, meat memory, particularly long term, seems to be chemical.

Someday a full interface will be possible, and in some cases, necessary.

And even if we had that technology today, Terri Schiavo would still be 15 years dead.
