Blakes "if you trap the moment before it's ripe"

If you trap the moment before its ripe
the ears of repentance you'll certainly wipe
but if once you let the rive moment go
you can never wipe off the tears of woe

what does this mean??

Maybe i'm just thinking to simple- or maybe its really this simple....but here is what i get from this.

I think that he's just trying to say that there is a certain time for everything to happen....that if it's done too early or too late- it won't be the same. If moments in our lives are Fruit....then we must try to gather the "fruit" when its ripe...not too early - or it will still be green- and not ready to "eat"....but we also shouldn't wait too long...or it will be over ripe...maybe even rotten...and not good. And if you let the ripe moments go- you'll forever "wipe off the tears of woe", you'll be forever kicking yourself.
