The wider membership has made for a wider variety of views - but I still look for my old mates from the first page!

Some newbies become instant old & dearies.. Francis and the blueveinedwonder, for example. Many wonderful people have shown up here and stuck around since that first page or two. If postings were rated by numbers per day (er, they aren't, are they?) I bet the majority - or at least a good portion - of the folks who hold the place together are not from the first three hundred. And we all regenerate from the new/short time posters.

One development I've noticed, with so many members posting constantly... Most threads come and go very quickly now (apart from the "eternal/lingering" ones or controversial ones.) Not necessarily a bad thing, just an observation. There are so many new topics daily that it's hard to keep up & some good threads get lost in the process.

I've enjoyed reading the threads.. from the first day. That's why I decided to join. I've often found an answer to one of my own questions in old threads.

It just feels right to communicate with so many of you. I always look at the "Joined" date when someone replys to one of my posts. It makes me feel like they are a little more experienced and I take that advice a little more seriously.

In case I didn't say it before, thank you all A2Kers for the warm welcome!

Just checked - I was no. 272! Just two days ahead of Slappy!

There is one little entry on the same page that says an awful lot about just how resilient and SO much better this place is:

'DAKOTASTONE'. 6 entries in all, what a frigging waste....

I'll keep that in mind, chispita, if I ever come up with some advice.

Dang, Stillwater, I had no idea you were such a newbie.

blueveinedthrobber, did you know there is an "elite  " group of A2kers in New Mexico? Several in Albuquerque, one in Farmington, and now you in Roswell.
