The solution is Pot. Not the Pot you boil him in, but the pot that you smoke.

Or at least that is what one Maine restaurant claims. In a "scientific" experiment - this Maine owner put Roscoe (the lobster), into a box with a little water and blew marijuana smoke through a straw. The result? Roscoe became very, very chill, she said. “There was no desire to pinch or grab,”

"We’re not trying to make money on this; we’re not charging extra,” she said. “But if this is a place to create happiness, then [the lobster] needs to die in that fashion.” Plus, Gill said she thinks the meat tastes better — sweet, light, and “positive.”

However on the other side - Joseph Ayers, a professor of marine and environmental sciences at Northeastern University, doesn’t believe giving cannabis to the lobsters makes any difference. While conducting a surgical experiment in his lab, he once saw a lobster eat its own tail.

I think freezing them is better than boiling them if you are going to kill them. I would personally rather die by freezing than boiling. Who wouldn't?

@livinglava,
You are not cooking them to kill them - you are cooking them to eat them.

@livinglava,
I think freezing lobsters is a good solution. When any cold-blooded animal is subjected to cold its metabolism is lowered, and it goes to sleep in a torpor. There is no pain that I can tell. A warm-blooded animal, on the other hand would go into extreme shivering, and it wouldn't die without a lot of agony. I think dying from fire would be horrific but quicker than freezing to death. You'd probably die from the lack of oxygen.

@roger,
I think the correct phrase is to get them "baked".

@farmerman,
I wonder how a drunk lobster would taste - according to this Maine restaurant owner the high lobster tastes better.
