Could the Russia Investigation be a form of Russian Interference?

If Russian interference is being investigated, it doesn't seem like that could be a form of Russian interference in itself, does it? But what if it is, and the goal is to pursue political goals in both the US and Russia simultaneously by accusing one political wing of interfering with the other's control of politics?

Governments separated by national borders have internal conflicts across the political spectrum. If the Russian left wing wants to simultaneously attack the US right wing as well as the Russian right wing, launching a US-based investigation into 'foreign interference' would accomplish that goal. Then, it would be difficult to accuse the Russian left wing of being involved in the investigation, because resources would already be tied up in that investigation.

House of mirrors, anyone?

No, it doesn't.

I wonder if anyone has started investigating what/who is behind these Russian interference investigations yet. Maybe they are all just on the defensive and haven't thought about tracing them back to Russia or other global influences.

Face it, it is really convenient to simultaneously attack the Trump administration and whoever might have helped them in Russia because that would be a political attack on enemies in both countries. Why not conduct the same investigation in the other direction and make a multinational political-interference struggle out of it? I bet you could get more countries involved than just Russia and the US.
