Can anyone tell me what to use as a binding agent to make feeding blocks of seed for my small parrot (quarrian ) I live in a warm climate and copha and fats do not work ....ideally some form of light glue would be perfect
GLUE?
We get ffeed blocks and vitamin blocks made up by a molasses mill. They heat the molasses to a "soft crack" stage and embed the minerals and treats. The cattle have to lick it . It doesnt work with all animals cause itll bust the teeth of those that wish to chew.
consider it a marzipan withseeds. LIME JELLO WITH GRAPES for birdies
Thanks but i think molasses would be a tad strong for my bird
I can't really be helpful, but echoing Farmerman, GLUE?
After all, your parrot is going to eat this.
I presume the problem is that your quarrian is a messy eater? Would peanut butter work as a binder?
Its gotta be something food grade, unless youwant to use some harmless cellulose binder like avicel . Id not like to think of any non food item going into my buddies .
They dont use a lot of molasses its only a binder for the vitamins and grain.
Sounds like your on your own.
A parrots beak is made for major disassembly so the hard crack sugar or molasses still sounds feasible. Check it out on google.
