The grand old duke of York,
He had ten thousand men,
He marched them up to the top of the hill,
Then he marched them down again.

And when they were up, they were up,
And when they were down, they were down,
And when they were only halfway up,
They were neither up nor down...

I live in York. I'm neither grand nor a duke, nor have an personal army, but much of the time, I don't know whether I'm coming or going, whether I'm up or down... It just seemed apt at the time.

n-i-m-h are the first four letters of the alphabet in the Karapapak language, and coincidentally are generally used to denote the concept of g-o-d in Khinalug (an unrelated language but spoken nearby, close to where the Tates and Lezgins live), in which His name itself is not supposed to be spoken out loud.

I was thinking about selling fabric on ebay at one time and as I was trying to figure out a good ebay name for myself, I thought I'd go with material girl, but it was already taken, so I became material-angel.

Well, I started with my real name. That got boring. So I decided to try something that sounded more beautiful than my English name.

Bella Dea is "Beautiful Goddess" in Italian.

Well, ok, I'll tell. My sister once gave me this name. She said it described the way I walk. I grew to like the name because it could have several different meanings, as some very friendly members noticed when I first joined. I only use the name here and I am NOT this person.

See, it does suit you :-D

It was just something I was thinking about doing, but never did. I do all kinds of crafts, so I was going to sell cotton fabric in the quilting section.

Oh nimh. I was wondering how any language's alphabet could start with n-i-m-h. But I just figured it was yet another thing I was ignorant of. You got us!

A green witch is an herbalist or one who works with plants - which is appropriate in my case.
