What's up with all the f'n Spanglish?

Uno, dos, tres, quattro!! HOLA! My name is Bono the Dooshbag!

Seriously. When did it become "cool" and "hip" to mix a little Spanish in your songs? Bono probably can't speak any more Spanish than he does in "Vertigo."

Other than Bono, there's a ton of Spanglish in hip hop too.

Gracias for your replies.

I would say something intelligent, but it would go unnoticed on this topic.

Then it's a good thing you didn't.

I was joking, jeez lighten up.

I think the band Sublime incorporated spanish in their songs well, they also had a few songs entirely in spanish.
I agree with Slappy that some bands that do it, have no reason for it and could not even count to seven if they had to.

Oops sorry, I knew I shouldn't have tried to be funny. I'm just not funny...

I've never listened to U2, and I'm not about to start now, but in the song that Slappy mentioned he doesn't even count right, he jumps from three to fourteen. Very Happy

When I listen to Sublime I get the feeling they can actually speak Spanish, not being some trendy clowns like Bono or Jay-Z(even though I like both their music).

Depending on the country, it can mean either a man that's popular with women, a manwhore, or a very bitchy gay man.
