Hi,
I their anyone out there who can help me with this nagging math problem?
Here is the problem:
9..............___..........3........+.......5
________..........._______......._______
x^2+4x-5...........x^2+5x........x^2-4x
Please treat the leader dots as space...

This is the answer that was at the back of the text:

11x-28
__________
x(x-2)(5+x)

Least common demoninator
Are you sure you posted the problem correctly? I don't see how you can get (x-2) in the denominator of the answer. The LCD for this problem is

x(x+5)(x-4)(x-1)

When I work out the problem, I did achieve the same LCM as you did. However the answer to the back of the book, which is not my answer seems ot be entirely different.
