@Abigail May,
Assuming that you are not pulling our collective leg, you shouldn't feel threatened. This is just an internet forum frequented by a lot of retirees and people who are surfing the net when they should be doing the jobs they are being paid for. I doubt there are many people here who could injure a noodle, let alone an annonymous individual who could be anywhere in the world.
Most of the regulars here are quite welcoming to newcomers, but there are exceptions.
If you run across one, and you would like to avoid
contact with them you can do the following:
1) Ignore them or
2)
IGNORE them
Here's how to accomplish #2:
1) Click on the persons's name that appears to the right of their "icon" (for example: A photo of a reddish dog that appears to be a Vizsla)
2) This will take you to the person's Profile Page - Locate the person's "icon"
3) Directly below the "icon" you will find three options on three green bars:
a)
FOLLOW USER:
DO NOT click on this option. It is the opposite of what you are trying to accomplish
b)
SEND MESSAGE: Whatever you do,
DO NOT click on this option!! Doing so will invite you to send a "private message" to the person; one that only she (or he) can see. Doing so with a few members of this forum will lead you down a
rabbit hole, and set you up for them to lie about what you wrote in your message.
c)
IGNORE USER: This is the one you want. Click on the bar and the text should change to
"UN-IGNORE USER" and it will mean you have put that person
On Ignore. What this means is that you will no longer see that person's posted comments on your screen. If you can't see the comments, you can't be insulted or bullied. IMPORTANT: Don't click on the bar a second time or you will no longer be ignoring the person.
That's all there is to it.
Welcome to the Wonderful World of A2K!
