Just a simple poll... wondering how many new names and faces we've seen in a previous life...
I'm not a newbie, but I did come from abuzz in a way. I wasn't spending much time on Abuzz anymore when I joined here though.

i don't know whether i still count as a newbie, but yeh, i came from abuzz too.
and yeh, what is *up* with that "smeg" thing?! excepting a rare rerun of "red dwarf" i haven't heard or seen the word "smeg" anywhere but here for something like a decade! ;-)
I've come from Abuzz, but indirectly, and after a longish interval.

I suppose I take the Groucho Marx line on these matters, but actually A2K seems as good as Abuzz was and why not. We can learn from mistakes, and I'm happy that folks have put this together. It's a good community/ forum.

Almost every screen name I've seen here so far came from Abuzz. I haven't been there in a while though. Is it still out every weekend?
I started with Abuzz, but when it became possessed by the network trolls, I started visiting it less and less frequently. Fortunately, someone publicized there the URL of A2K. So, now (since November 2002) I am here.
I'm not a newby but I had to answer to get the statistics right.
Guess what - I did not come from aBuzz. And it seems I am the only one. I was invited by BigDice who probably thought it would make life easier for him. And it worked. I never understood what he saw in aBuzz. Now I am hooked to A2K...
Abuzz, by the way, is still alive...

Yes, Abuzz is still alive, but its most useful feature, the e-mailing of posts and responses, seems to have gone pffft. Which is a nuisance for sure, 'cause now you have to dig around to find out if there's anything interesting going on or if anyone has answered your question.
