My dog became sick a few days ago, lethargic with a low grade fever. I took him to the vet and his fever was gone. They did a fecal and it was negative for worms. However, the next day his stomach became hardened, lack of energy, eyes are draining, he is struggling to have a bowel movement and it is very hard. Does anybody have any suggestions?
I suggest you call your vet and tell them what you told us. It could be nothing, but I wouldn't take any chances. Have you changed your dogs diet recently?
Gina - What you are describing can be anything from anal sac impaction to prostatic hyperplasia, and literally anything in between. By all means, get him checked out by a veterinarian. He'll need a lot more clinical information than what is posted here.
I agree with CowDoc. Whenever I see any problem at all with my pets, off to the vet I go.
