It's fine, personally I'd drop the comma after MU, but that's just a matter of style. It's perfectly fine either way.

Where Man Utd is concerned, I personally would take the letter 'O' out of 'counts' but that's just me and has nothing to do with paok's question.
I would put 'just' or 'merely' before 'important'.

Agreed. I would also consider a semicolon between two independent but related clauses.
