Jazz it is. Song of the day:
You Got it in Your Soulness - Les McCann & Eddie Harris
It is a larger file but well worth the wait.

You're 2 for two...just keep picking 'em.
By the way...I'm listening to Cold Duck Time off that Live At Montreaux album you offered yesterday. Did you know that quartet had never played those songs til they got onstage? Remarkable.

I did not know that. I like how you can hear people cheering them on in the back ground... woopin' and hollerin' their approval... good stuff.
On a different note, I played trumpet and piano when I was younger and got pretty good at both of them but never to the point where I could just make stuff up as I went. I was always jealous of those people.

Sometimes I feel sorry for band students that have to learn music by rote and their ability to improvise atrophies. Music and playing it for me has always been about the immediacy of expressing a feeling; a high wire act where sometimes you fall but when you make it safely to the platform, you're left with a wonderful glow.
On the other hand musicians that can read have a whole other world that I'll never experience.

Alright... I tried to find something upbeat for today, but it just didn't match my mood. So instead I went this with:
I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You - Colin Hay from the Garden State Soundtrack

Where's the Man At Work been? Lovely tune. In the same league as Mark Knopfler...rarified air.

Very nice. There have been some great movie soundtrack. A couple of my favorites are from Wonder Boys and Hi-Fidelity.
