What do you think about the intense sentimentalizing trend to make so many movies and TV series set and fetishizing the 1980s (all things American culture and politics)?
Television really is digging the 80s goldmine:
Netflix's critically acclaimed Stranger Things; The Goldbergs (TV Series 2013– ) ; FX's The Americans; AMC's Halt and Catch Fire; NBC's Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders; This is Us is partially set in the decade;
To movies:
Stephen King's recent rehashing of It; I, Tonya; Dirty Girl; The Lure; Guardians of the Galaxy (soundtrack wise) Vol. 1 and 2; etc....
Is this hitting a sentimental sweet spot for you? Or is it driving you bonkers? Or are you immune (AKA from a baby boomer or Millenial) to the allure of big hair, synth dance music, and Valley Girl sass?
Them 80s boys wore way too much eye liner and eye shadow.

I guess so. But I'm not really noticing it too much.

I had very long hair, and a perm to make it wavy.
I still have long hair (not as long though). I left the perm back in the '80s.
