So I know e is special and I know why. But why is e, as opposed to other numbers, special. Why does e form all these interesting things(for lack of better word)? For example why is e the maximum of the graph f(x)=x root x (I found this one out myself  so i feel special.)?
The significance of e, named for mathematician Leonhard Euler, is that in calculus, if you integrate (1/X), you get Log(x) base e, usually called a "natural logarithm" and written as ln(x).
