Toshiba DLP and Comcast (Motorola 6200 box) HDMI/DVI Issue

I cannot set the format 1080i when using the HDMI connection to the DVI connection on the cable box. If I use 480i it works fine. Toshiba says it should work, Comcast does not know why it does NOT work. I have tried 2 caable boxes and 3 different HDMI/DVI cables. Has anyone seen this or know how I can resolve it. The 1080i format works okay with the component cables.
Thanks

PROBLEM RESOLVED!

When turning "on" the power:
Power up the TV first
Power up the DVI device (cable box)

When turning "off" the power:
Power off the cable box first
Power off the TV

The above works about 90% of the time. I do believe "they" are working on a fix that won't require any sequence...

ALSO, after all of this, I see no appreciative difference between the HDMI/DVI and component cables!

HDMI/DVI going blank
I have a Toshiba 42HP84 Plasma connected to a Motorola cable box via DVI/HDMI. When I turn on the TV and cable box I get a blank screen with sound. This happens about 80% of the time. Is this a TV or cable box problem?
