Should I use "tied" or "drew" in the following example?
City and United were tied / drew at half-time.
If not, how would you express this concept?
If so, are there other (better) ways to say this?
Thank you.
@paok1970,
To be honest, our commentators are more likely to say United and City were level at half time. Drawn is more commonly used over here, tied is more American.
Apparently, a 1950s American book intended for teenagers mentioned the topic of girl and boy adolescent growth spurts like this: "Up to the age of 15, boys grow taller faster than girls, but after that it is neck and neck". According to the Reader's Digest when I was a kid.
@izzythepush,
Izz and Cen as usu, right on !! thogh, Push, you might be 'prised to learn that this guy has never once in his Jorun Life heard the word 'level' used that way
