Should I use "tied" or "drew" in the following example?

City and United were tied / drew at half-time.

If not, how would you express this concept?

If so, are there other (better) ways to say this?

Thank you.

@paok1970,
To be honest, our commentators are more likely to say United and City were level at half time. Drawn is more commonly used over here, tied is more American.

Apparently, a 1950s American book intended for teenagers mentioned the topic of girl and boy adolescent growth spurts like this: "Up to the age of 15, boys grow taller faster than girls, but after that it is neck and neck". According to the Reader's Digest when I was a kid.
