Yes, it's deifinitely a petpet... I can picture one in my head, although could not really describe it well.

--------------------------------------------

I agree that it's Anubis.... they left out the i in irretrievably, the b in problem and so on... it's a deliberate omission, not 6 typos. (Heck of a coincidence to spell an anagram of Anubis if it was!)

I put Anubis anyway so I hope it's right :-)

Congratulations! You have guessed correctly in the Lenny Conundrum game (round 144). You have won 690 NP!

Because you were in the first 250 to guess correctly, you also have been awarded a Turkey Dinner, and receive a trophy and the Lenny Conundrum avatar!

New Lenny Conundrum

One of Conundrum Lenny's most cherished possessions is the complete set of the very rare "Caring For Your Neopets" books (volumes 1 though 5). Each book is 62 millimetres thick, which includes the front and back covers, which are 4 millimetres thick each.

One evening, he sat down and opened one of the books and there was a hole in it! How could this be? It turned out a Wormoeba had eaten through the books, starting on the first page of Volume 1 and eating all the way to the last page of Volume 5.

If the Wormoeba had eaten through the books in the most direct route possible, how many millimetres did the Wormoeba travel? Please submit your answer as a number.

Thats what i got originally, but then it says from PAGE 1 OF BOOK 1 TO THE LAST PAGE OF BOOK 5. So namely, you miss out 8m of the entire amount. So thats;
62m per book
62 x 5 books = 310 - 8m = 302

302 is the answer..?

[here is what i got:

each book is 62mm thick
62*5=310
each cover is 4mm thick
4*2=8
310-8=302mm]

roly you miss a step...8x5=40

so 310-40=270mm

Lenny Conundrum
Okay, but if you subtract 40, we assume that he didn't eat thru the covers of the books too. Which means that he had to travel from the last page around the two book covers and to the first page of the next book and we don't have data about how tall the bookcovers are. I think since it indicates a direct route, then we have to assume he ate thru the book covers of the middle books (and of course the back cover of 1 and the front cover of 5).
