I also used the N+2 method as well and I put that as my answer... but because there were leftovers, I am now nervous about my final answer! Sad

Prove your methodology with a small enough number(or 2) that you can verify manually.

I got several solutions but they all led to the same answer... all with the same # of bags... if you were to assume "no 2 bags can contain the same amount of coins" that would narrow it down to 1 solution... but they did not say that... so I guessed if I kept getting the same # of bags 3 or 4 different ways... well maybe one of those ways was correct... We'll have to wait till next Wed to see if my "OFF BASE" answer pans out.

If you put in the answer at 3 pm NST, there is a chance of being in the top 250 and getting the avatar. The conundrum was first posted on this forum at 4:10 pm, which is two hours ahead of NST, so the first posting was at 2:10 pm NST. Although there were several people that mentioned how easy they found it, I've found that if the answer isn't posted, the top 250 remains available for a while.

I have an answer that's lower than 20, and can contain combinations for 1-4967.

Start with a simple problem such as how many pouches are needed to provide 1 coin? 2 coins? 3? 4? 5? and keep going until you see a pattern.
