It wasn't random as such--it's derived from real information, but not information that just anyone could really know on the user end, like "How many times was Meerca Chase played this month?" or something similar.

nabile was the correct answer. u mustve put something else in or neopets skipped over u.

Take the number of items on Neopets with the word "candy" in the item name. Add to that the number of items with the word "chocolate" in the item name. Then subtract the number of items with the word "spooky" in the item name.
What number do you get?
(Note that the answer may change between now and the time this conundrum is judged. If so, only the answer that is effective at the time of judging will be the correct one. So it might be worth putting off submitting your answer for a few days!)
This is a question based on luck too. You have to know exactly when they won't add any more new items till the judging. I guess they will add some more items just before judging to make it difficult but that's just my guess.
But I think you should all look at neoitems.net to guess that answer at all.
They'll probably put more candy out with Halloween just around the corner.
There are some "Trick-or-Treat" points hidden around the site, giving away Halloween Goodie Bags. I didn't open mine--I sold them immediately--but I bet they have a load of new candies.
Today's the day that they judge it, so I went ahead and tried to figure it out, and thanks to neoitems.net I got 421. However, the news hasn't come out yet today, so they could still add more, but I put in the answer anyways just in case they didn't. Plus, neoitems.net could be missing a few, so in conclusion, I'm probably wrong.

i did it yesterday and i got like 423 (can't recall exactly) or something like that, and then rechecked neoitems today and it's 400 now! bummer!
