1. There are 13 letters in the puzzle.
2. Letters 1 and 5 are the same consonant.
3. Letters 2, 7 and 11 are the same vowel.
4. Letters 6 and 12 are the same consonant.
5. Letters 4 and 9 are the same vowel.
6. In the alphabet, letter 13 comes immediately before letter 4.
7. In the alphabet, letter 10 comes 3 letters after letter 8.
8. There is one space, somewhere in the puzzle, which does not count as a letter for the purposes of this puzzle. (So, ignore the space when counting the letter positions.) There is no other punctuation.

What is the word or phrase?

@willzi8,
How could it be a word if there's a space?

@willzi8,
It said word or phrase. So I'm guessing it's a phrase.

@0hdanny,
The blanks obviously can't represent a question because there is only one space =/

Its two words, not too difficult to find. I'm not sure how to give a clue without giving it away.

My first thought was to start by looking through all the possibilities. Unfortunately, there are 5,274,360 possibilities before you consider the space and 10 times that if you consider the different space position possibilities.

5,274,360 = 21 (clue 2) X 5 (clue 3) X 21 (clue 4) X 4 (clue 5 + clue 6) X 23 (clue 7) X 26 (no clue for letter 3)

You can shrink this somewhat if you assume that clues 2-7 refer to 6 distinct letters. In that case, there are only 1,701,204 possibilities before considering the space position.

Both of the above calculations assume Y is a consonant.

Well, if you only consider clues 3, 5 and 6 and iterate through the vowels, there are only twenty possibilities (without considering the space). If you have good pattern recognition skills with words (unlike me), you might be able to pick it up from the following list:

_a_e__a_e_a_d
_a_i__a_i_a_h
_a_o__a_o_a_n
_a_u__a_u_a_t
_e_i__e_i_e_h
_e_o__e_o_e_n
_e_u__e_u_e_t
_i_e__i_e_i_d
_i_o__i_o_i_n
_i_u__i_u_i_t
_o_e__o_e_o_d
_o_i__o_i_o_h
_o_u__o_u_o_t
_u_e__u_e_u_d
_u_i__u_i_u_h
_u_o__u_o_u_n

There are far more than 20 possibilities, because you're not factoring in all the possible consonants. Yeah, you have the vowel placements covered, but you don't have the variables for the consonant letters >_>

@blacksuzaku,
It looks right to me since clue 6 says: In the alphabet, letter 13 comes immediately before letter 4.

I've got it Wink Don't forget, 3 8 and 10 can also be vowels, which would then be different from 2 and 11 and 4 and 9. Good luck!

@blacksuzaku,
If you look at my earlier post, I said there were over 1.7 million possibilities if you assume all the clues refer to different letters.

I was just posting a small set that someone could look at and maybe get some guesses off of. There are various restrictions on the combinations of what could go into the remaining blanks, but I was starting with the restrictions that the vowel clues give us.

@lennyfan,
Hint: Have a look around the map of Neopia, and remember what is coming up at the end of this month.

@misspelt,
Thanks for the hint. I've got it now. You can even get a hint of where to go from the prize this week. Anyway, for anyone that is still working on finding recognizable words from the clues, I took at look at what consonants might precede the possible final consonants from my previous clue. My possibilities are:

Before d: l, n, r, or w
Before h: c, g, or p
Before n: g, l, r, or w
Before t: c, f, l, n, r, or s

Putting in these possible positions, we get a longer list of 68 possible patterns:
_a_e_la_e_ald
_a_e_na_e_and
_a_e_ra_e_ard
_a_e_wa_e_awd
_a_i_ca_i_ach

_a_o_ga_o_agn
_a_o_la_o_aln
_a_o_ra_o_arn
_a_o_wa_o_awn
_a_u_ca_u_act
_a_u_fa_u_aft
_a_u_la_u_alt
_a_u_na_u_ant
_a_u_ra_u_art
_a_u_ra_u_art
_e_i_ce_i_ech

_u_i_pu_i_uph
_u_o_gu_o_ugn
_u_o_lu_o_uln
_u_o_ru_o_urn
_u_o_wu_o_uwn

I think this will be the end of my pattern lists. The next step would be to prune those that have combinations of the last three letters that don't look right and then maybe think about filling in the related positions 8 and 10. That would give us 8 consecutive letters at the end of the phrase which would be likely to be recognizable to a lot of people.

Going back to last week's LC once more, is there anyone out there that calculated the 95025 wrong answer from two weeks ago and can explain how they got it. I'm really curious about where it came from that so many people found that answer. Or do we just have to attribute it to crowds of lurkers?

i agree -- i still can figure out how so many people came up with 95025.
anyone care to share, since it doesn't count now?
the only thing i can think if is that it got poached from here. meaning we should be more careful about what is said.

@jjbuttcrack,
I didn't come up with 95025. I didn't even get last week's wrong answer right, lol, but I agree, it may well have been poached from here.
