I agree that there doesn't appear to be a link. The title of the page is "Neopets - Game Guide!". Doing a search on Google for these words provides links to steps 1-7 of the guide, but no page pointing to it when I restrict the search to neopets.com. Using the Google search for pages containing links to www.neopets.com/gameguide/index.phtml turns up nothing. Searching for "game guide" in the Neopets search turns up a bunch of books, and searching for gameguide turns up a user and a pet. I tried doing a Google search with all the words "food furniture petpets paint brush weapon toys books" on neopets.com and it didn't find the page, although Yahoo did.

My first guess was that this is an "obsolete" section of the site that used to be available from the main Neopets page to tell people something about Neopets. However, after looking at the images on the game guide pages, I'm pretty sure this is a new feature that hasn't yet been released. First, page 1 contains the new layout with the Neofriends (beta) section. Second, on page 2, there are new neohome items included in the furniture section. So, the Lenny people apparently decided to use a page that hasn't been generally released yet.

Aha! Today, I created a new Neopet. Right afterwards, there was a link to the game guide. Therefore, if someone created a new Neopet or a new account, they would be able to access this elusive guide... and the now "obvious" answer.

@Vocalization,
You get the link when you create a new pet or account. You can also access it by going to the Contact Us link, then Activation Code Questions link, then Activate Your Account link. Its the Neopets Players Guide.

@K311Y,
I like the conundrums that actually require us to figure stuff out, not search the site for days. This week I bet it will be a math problem. We havent had math for awhile.

Lord Darigan has dropped you in the centre of his catacombs. From where you stand, there are 4 passageways, one going north, one south, one east and one west. 25 metres down each of these passageways is another 4-way intersection (also going north, south, east and west). 25 metres down each of THOSE passageways is another 4-way intersection, and 25 metres down THOSE passageways is another 4-way intersection, with passages going 25 metres in each direction.

Each passageway's cross-section is a square, 3 metres tall and 3 metres wide. Assume that 25 metres is the exact distance between the centres of each intersection, and each intersection is a 3-metre by 3-metre square.

If Lord Darigan decides to flood the passageways, how much water will be required to fill the labyrinth to the ceiling? Please submit your answer in cubic metres, and submit only a number, with no punctuation or any other information. For example, if it takes 500,000 cubic metres to fill, you would just submit 500000. Also, disregard the volume of yourself and any other carnivorous creature you might find in the catacombs.

A new Lenny Conundrum competition has begun. The answer to last week's puzzle was "Royal Boy Peophin Cloak" and there were only 4 correct entries, each earning a whopping 500000 NP. Because there were so few winners, the prize was upgraded to a Royal Paint Brush! See what happens when you don't tell others the answer?

Aagh, I have no idea how to calculate the terminal junctions =p Does a cul-de-sac take up the whole 3x3x3, for instance?

Not sure what you mean by terminal junctions, but here's what I did:
Drew out the catacombs, calculated the total volume of all the passageways (all vertical then all horizontal), the subtracted the extra volume from crossing over the intersections twice in the way I calculated the passages.
I double- and triple-checked my calculations and the method used, but haven't confirmed my answer with anyone else so I don't know how it compares.

EDIT: I understand "cul-de-sac" now Razz From the way I looked at it, there are no cul-de-sacs, the last passageways simply end 25 meters from the center of the previous intersection.
