@agentosx,
I think that trophies depend on time. I've won LC more than 3 times and I'm still at Silver. ^^

Yes yes yes, the bloody trophies depend on time.

First 10 to get it gets a gold trophy.

Now stop discussing the obvious and help people

@BrixenIvy,
Wasn't sure about my method, but I could infer my answer based on what people said their answer ranged in and hints. ^^

I don't think you have the right to call anyone else on this board an idiot if you can't get the riddle yourself.

All i know is the answer is over 200 and under 220 said by one person. I can guess and have a 1/20 shot at it. D:

@ro67,
I got an answer over 200 that matches the way ro67 described the digits as well Smile
Used a method similar to the one outlined in the "Ask Marilyn" column.

It's not a riddle. It's math. If it were a riddle, I'd have figured it out and all of you would be like "omg i kant figur it ot whuz da answr?"

It just frustrates me that I help people when it comes to logic and riddles, and no one helps me when it comes to math.

@lunarblossom68,
i didn't understand what the person was saying. so you multiply days and kaus for both of the knowns--then what?

@starleogirl09,
To those struggling, there was a hint given about the answer on page 524. I think it was the second post? Something along the lines of the product of the digits equaling the sum + 2 times the second digit.

Sorry to bring the alphabet back in ^^':

Let's say the answer is xyz. 3 digits, a letter for each. X - first digit, Y - second, Z - third

x * y * z = x+y+z+(2y)

Okay, here is how I solved the problem, step by step. I'm starring out some of the numbers; you'll have to do the math on your own to get them. Please keep in mind that the starred out numbers are not all the same number.

So the equation is a / (b - c) = d.

First substitute in both B values (number of cows) and both D values (number of days to clear the field), to get this:

a / (48 - c) = 90 and a / (120 - c) = 30

You want these two equations to be equal to each other so that you can solve for C. So to make them equal, multiply the second equation by 3 because 30 x 3 = 90. You should get this:

a / (48 - c) = 3a / (120 - c)

Now that you've set them equal to each other, you can cross multiply:

1(120 - c) = 3(48 - c)

Then simplify:

120 - c = 144 - 3c
120 + 2c = 144
2c = 24
c = **

You now know what C is equal to. Now you need to figure out what A is equal to. To do this, substitute C back into one of the two original equations:

a / (48 - **) = 90

Therefore:

a / ** = 90
** x 90 = 3***
a = 3***

Now you have the A and C values, and Neopets gives you the D value, which is 16. Substitute all of these back into our original equation:

3*** / (b - **) = 16

Then all you need to do is solve for B:

(3*** / 16) + ** = 2**.*

Round to the nearest whole number and you have your answer.
