Product of primes?
6 = 2*3
15 = 3*5
35 = 5*7
77 = 7*11
143 = 11*13
etc., still calculating these now
blacksuzaku wrote:42 is a viable solution, actually.
Since 6 is the only even number, it might be changed to either 5 or 7. If it's 7, then 7 x 6 = 42
I hope it is the solution... xD
That's what I was thinking...but I wasn't positive D:
Ok, then I guess I'm just going to put 42 and keep my fingers crossed. D;
Got it
You can work it out from my post above

But that doesn't include the 'one of the numbers is wrong', does it? ;/
No, but work upwards with the pattern
Take the highest prime for the previous equation, multiply it by the next prime. If the number matches, tick it off. You'll soon find a number that doesn't match - multiply the correct product of primes and the number that should be next when the table is sorted into numerically ascending order

That doesn't make any sense to me. I mean, the product of the primes will give you one number. Does it give you the number that the wrong number SHOULD be, or does it tell you what the wrong number is? Ugh. I'm confused.
Yes it does, and he's RIGHT!
I just calculated it with my uber TI-89. All those numbers are covered except 2021... there's 1763, then 2491. So 2021 is wrong.
The next number in the sequence is 61 x 67, which is 4087. So 2021 should be 4087. Multiply those two numbers.

Wow! That's mega smart work! =D I wonder if I'll FINALLY get that avatar/trophy. :*:* Thanks so much, guys. I would have never thought of that. x_____x
Thank you for submitting your answer
Good luck!!
Actually mine is a different answer....

Ugh, so I might -not- have gotten it right. w.w
What's your answer??
so the answer would be 8259827?
Haha I've never posted on this board before. I always just lurk...never figure it out before anyone else. I had to register and post.
You know what I think is funny? The "pretend" number they gave us was '212040'. The wrong number is apparently 2021 (2120 scrambled) and then the two first numbers of the number it SHOULD be are 40, the remaining numbers. =O
i got a number in the eight hundred thousands..

What's your answer??
Following HMKGod's pattern, I found a number that is only slightly off what it should be when multiplying the two primes... so I multiplied that wrong number by what it should be and submitted my answer.
