Does anyone know what the answer is for this week....I have no clue what to do

What objection did you have to the explanations and answer provided in the previous two or three pages of posts? Question

Or are you one of the Neopians whose browser can't follow (or see?) the "Previous" link...? You'd think the forum mods would notice this continual and apparently extremely common browser incompatability.... Shocked

Thank you. Very Happy

Eliz.

I'm pretty sure the answer is "Codestone II" I'll show you my working.

At first I thought it was some type of encryption so I broke out Visual C# and started working on it. With no progress I thought mabye it had something to do with the image. So I saved it. It's default name was "202_WORDSEARCH" So hence I stuided it and noticed a few codestone names. I started working them out figuring where they were and crossed them out.

In the end I ended up with this as the message (Reading it by each row going down)

"DICESITOONE", I figured as much this had to be unscrambled and got "CODESTONE II"; Heres an image:

You forgot to cross out tai-kai, thats why you're left with 2 I's. The correct answer is codestone.

Tai-kai runs from the "T" you didnt cross out to the first "I" you didnt cross out. I think I know what you did, you probaly found it as individual words, tai in one place and kai in another place, but it should be found as one word in one straight line.

Why wait, when you can check it out yourself!

Take the graphic; follow the reasoning, steps, and instructions provided in the previous couple pages of posts; and see what you come up with! Then you can reply here with your results, confirming or correcting what others have come up with, and making your own positive contribution to the discussion. Cool

We look forward to your update! Very Happy

Eliz.

I think they took the day off and they are not going to do it today.
Nobody got a neomail yet saying they won. I know I did it wrong, because I put codestones (not codestone). I'm sure the answer was codestone, so if you answered that and haven't received a neomail yet, they have probably taken the day off for the 4th of July and they will extend it a week or they'll put it up tomorrow. (They've done that before.)

Just a random LC question. How many of you here have a trophy, what color, and how quickly do I need to answer an LC before I can no longer win the avatar? How quickly do 250 ppl answer the LC?

Just a few minutes ago, I got my neomail saying that I won. and now on the Conundrum page, it says, "Looks like this round has already been judged!" So, I assume shortly the new puzzle will be there.

No trophy for me this week, none yet.

What time you have to give your answer by really depends on the question. If it is really difficult you can still be in if you answer in 24 hours but with easy question you have to be almost within the hour the question came out.

221!
There's a new one! yay!

A Two Hundred Dubloon Coin is unique in that the outer edge is gold while the inside is silver. Assuming both sides of the coin are identical, and a line tangent to the inner circle is 23 mm from edge to edge of the coin, and excluding the edge of the coin in the calculation, what is the surface area of gold on the coin, in square millimetres? Please round up to the nearest square millimetre.

There's a picture on the site http://neopets.com/games/conundrum.phtml

I can sometimes get the math ones, and usually the word problem ones (always too slow for the avvie, but whatever, there's still the prize money) but I have never been able to understand tangents.

I think the radius of the inner circle will be 23/2...

So the surface area of the silver will be

3.14(pie) x 17.52
= 961.625

------------x
Surprised
No offense, but i think that would be a rather silly assumption..
Nothing says that coin is drawn to scale, try to draw silver part much smaller than golden part on piece of paper... and you'll see that radius if inner circle is not necessarily 23/2
