WHy would it be a 4?? What reason is there? If then you continue it, it doesn't loop back to the beginning. Any number would logically work there.

ok, here goes... note, the first number in each set is the number on the lenny:
408
085
859
571
713
133
332
323

779
798
989
896
966
664
6
4
Because then it would be a repeating cycle.
lenny
That doesn't make since either. If you take the first number it would end up being 408 which is the first number.
You would end up back at 408 if you continued the cycle.

if you take the last two numbers and add the next number which is 6, that is the answer
After looking at the diagonals, I noticed that they're all the same number. So the top could actually look like:
4
40
408
085
857
With this, the number column could (possibly) fit back into its self and make a repeating pattern. The bottom would look like:
664
640
440
408
Considering that on the column the given numbers are two numbers apart, that would make the eighth number 408, the number we started with.
That's my theory.
no you wouldn't! You'd have to make up a new number, 440, first, 1 row after, for it to work!
nursenicole wrote:Yes it does help. You go back to the beginning to get your last number (4). The answer would be 644.
nah, it would be
644
440
408
and it would just start all over again. Besites, it's a sequence... it can't end there, it's supposed to go on and on
I do not believe that a cycle is the same thing a a numberic pattern.
you dont need all three numbers, just the next logical answer. so if you take the last two numbers of the 664 which is 64, you add the first number of the next number which would start with a 6.
also
rather than goin down it would basically look like descending stairs.
I've been working this and noticed this---

If you using it like this the diagonal numbers all are the same(in their respective rows)
Something inside me seems to be pointing towards 408. It makes sense...
it clearly says pattern NOT CYCLE! Also, it only said 8 SCORES! If you make it loop back, IT WILL BE 9 SCORES!!

408 (back the the beginning)
no
it would still be 8 but u would be using the first 1 in the loop
No, if you're doing it like that the answer would be 408, because it is a new score. Remember how the column was started? from taking numbers from other numbers!
