I've been going over the numbers trying to figure the pattern and still no luck. Just a thought maybe it has nothing to do with the numbers at all maybe its something obvious like they were all low scores, or they were all not high enough to get a trophy, something like that?

.
they are asking for a specific number though, so it won't be that.

the scores weren't low... and they seem to make no sense at all. The hyperlink I examined, and there's nothing wrong about it. I tried putting in the numbers for the ctp link but that didn't work either. Sigh. Maybe we should just guess a random number...

On a side note: the new random contest is guessing a random number. Why don't we do that, and use the number we guessed there as our conundrum answer? lol

Sad
The pattern I was using worked only for the first three numbers. Sad

4+0+8=12 5+7+1=13 3+3+2=8
12=L 13=M 8=H
L+7=S M+7=T H+7=O

See how it's spelling out the first three letters of Stowaway?
But it doesn't work for the next number.
The next would be +6 and the one after would be +8. Sad

Wait.. So how did you come up with
12=7, 13=M, 8=H
L+7=S , M+7=T H+7=O?

You lost me at that part.

//Nevermind. I'm stupid.
I understand now Laughing

Sad
12=L because in the alphabet L is #12. Just as M is #13 and H is #8.

that wouldn't work, because if it was just adding the numbers, there could be a big number of posibilities that ended in the same numeric result, eg 306, 603, 801, 621, etc... they all add up 9. So that can't be.

I understand your thinking, although this is a difficult one for me to solve. But ideas are ideas Cool

i was thinking, add all the corresponding digits (eg. all the first digits, all the second digits, and all the third digits)

the first digits added up to be 35

the second set added up to be 38

the third set added up to be 38

so i'm thinkning that the answer may be 300 so that all the corresponding digits add up to be 38.....? Question Question

psychic that is similar reasoning to what I was using. I am trying to find a pattern by adding or subtracting the numbers - so 1st plus 2nd = whatever or 1st-4th = whatever but no luck so far

i thought about it, but in theory a pattern should go on, so... if 300 was the next... what would come after that? and why wasn't the pattern there before?

That would be a good idea.. but why not make them all add up to 39? or 40!?

Yes. Then it could be 411... I still think it has to do with the game, or otherwise why link to it and why use a recent game?

Yes... Conundrums generally require you use ALL the info they give...

Has anyone considered that the id# of the game might be important? It is 852. Just throwing it out there

Yes, I tried that, but since the IDs are based on newest games, there are no games past 852, so 989 wouldn't work.

I'm not saying that the 300 is or is not correct. But I understand what they were saying.
The first digits added up were 35, the second were 38 and the third were 38; so to make the first set of digits add up to 38 the first set of digits only needs a 3 ... ie 300 then all three sets of the digits would add up to 38, 38, 38.
But I think there is more to it than that. I can't seem to make a connection with the game link either.
I've been adding, subtracting, etc just like everyone else here. You know the numbers are even, odd, even, odd, odd, odd, even, ???(odd)??? Plus the numbers are; not prime, prime, not prime, not prime, prime, not prime, not prime, ??? (prime)??? The link to the game ??? the highest score right now is 1754, which is way higher then the ones in the question, but divide it by two and you have 877 (which is a prime number and an odd number). AND the numbers in the sequence go up, down, up, up, up, down, ???(up)??? And 877 is higher than 664.
So you see I'm all over the place with numbers also, but I'm not happy with any of my findings either. There has to be something else. It's like the puzzle about the pteris that were meeting in Faerieland a couple of weeks ago. Everyone was saying it was invisible, but I wasn't convinced ... it was the next day when someone came up with the ogrin and I still got into the first 250 because everyone was guessing invisible. I didn't agree with it and I'm not convinced with anything I've come up with yet!!!!

they can't do something with the high scores, because they could change. my main account got frozen and got taken from all high score lists. or if someone got a newer high score.

I like your thoughts about the high score - except of course that could certainly change at any point in time.
I am personally at a loss right now but I'll keep trying.
