We don't even have access to the question yet, so you're already one up on us. Shocked

Please reply with the full text of the puzzler, along with your thoughts, so the rest of us can start working on it, too. Thank you! Very Happy

Eliz.

The Question
In the following diagram, each blue line is 24 centimetres long, and the red line is 16 centimetres long. Assume the shape in the centre of the circle is a perfect square, and it is exactly centred in the circle.

What is the radius of the circle, in centimetres? Please round up to the nearest centimetre.

Congratulations! You have guessed correctly in the Lenny Conundrum game (round 216). You have won 504 NP!

Because you were in the first 250 to guess correctly, you also have been awarded a Quiguki Negg Hunt Set, and receive a trophy and the Lenny Conundrum avatar!

Yours Sincerely,

Oh, well. I guess I wll not be one of the top 250 with the correct answer this week for I am not good at math and I wish I could help with this weeks puzzle. I hope someone is nice enough to share the answer. Good Luck to one and all!

Hmm... if you look at the blue lines, and connect their ends, and if you extend the red line a bit... youll see that the blue and red lines intercept at 90 degrees, and the red line looks to be about the same length as the blue lines...... HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Laughing

I believe that I have the answer. Remember that this is a perfect square centered inside a circle, so the red line is the same length as the side of the square. Then use pythagorean theorem to get the length of the diagonal of the square. I hope that you can figure it out from there. Good luck

sorry momcarrot, but the red line is not the same size as the length of the square. That is all I will say. The other hints are in my last post.
