The answer is CREATIONS.

God, I hope they either accept a new submission or both answers. Anything else in unfair =p and I'm a paying member!

someone is saying that it is accepting another answer now - so just to be safe if you entered the wrong answer then try to enter the correct answer - who knows, it just might take it. But I don't know if it usually takes a second answer and just doesn't say anything...

I just submitted a second answer, and it took it! Yay =)

Ahh, I should have made it more clear that I was pasting the text verbatim as it currently was on the site, because it had changed...

If I had added an explanatory note at the bottom, could have saved a page of arguments. ;P

Oh wells.

This is from the latest Editorial:
Quote:
It seems that when you released this week's LC, you had a grammatical error. This caused the most likely answer ([removed]) to be eliminated, which led to my entering the only other likely answer, [removed]. Then, I heard on the boards that the LC was rewritten, and then [removed] really could be the correct answer. How are you going to figure out the prizes for this? It does not seem fair, because the people that answered [removed] to begin with were technically wrong at the time, since it said 'an,' a singular word. Please answer this! You guys are awesome. Keep up the good work TNT. Smile ~abelincoln42
Erm, yeah. Sorry about that. The LC writer was beaten about the face with a wet trout for that one.

We did clear out the answers once the question was changed, so you are free to enter again. Also, don't take us removing the answers in your question as an indication of correctness. Wink People will copy and paste regardless and we'd rather they try to work it out themselves.

Connundrum
While exploring through the trading post, you find someone offering a Ghostkerbomb. When you ask what she wants for it, this is her reply:

Suppose you have two numbers. The difference of the two numbers is 12. The product of the two numbers is 17. Multiply the larger of the two numbers by 100, add 50 times the smaller number to that, round the total to the nearest whole number, and that's my price."

2.5 + 14.5 = 17

14.5 * 100 = 1450
2.5 * 50 = 125

1450
+125 = 1575

17 is a prime number... how do you get it to be the product of 2 numbers except 17 and 1? and the diff between those is more than 12.. i'm confused... unless the numbers aren't whole numbers...

I did it with pretty big decimal numbers - I figure that's what the "multiply the larger number by 100" fixes. I submitted an answer - we'll see if it's correct.

I just kept taking out the decimal until I got really close to 17

The two numbers aren't very nice numbers, you need to write two simultaneous equations and form a quadratic to solve x and y.
