Per mollymil's find (good find!), the two segments that are tangent are 90.
Therefore, the area of the kite is 6845.7 (R*90).

There are several ways to find the angle of the sector of the circle.
It is 99.594.
That makes the area of the sector 5028.5 (circle area * 99.594/360).

Therefore, the area in question is 1817.2.
Rounded up to the nearest 25 it is 1825.

that was exactly was i got:)

our teacher taught us that in such situation,

you're right...from a geometry site:
"Two tangent segments to a circle from an external point are congruent."

http://agutie.homestead.com/files/Heron/Heron_tangent.gif

same site... http://agutie.homestead.com/files/heron/

states as fact that:

which is very helpful

.

thanks for your comfirmation:D

Gee, If you check my earlier post you will see that I was on the right track but I just could not figure out how to calculate the numbers. Good Luck to all those who post the correct answer. Maybe I will have better luck next week.

Where exactly did you come up with all these numbers for the different lengths in the problem? I think I might have been able to find this answer myself, but I was unsure of the different numbers...

New Lenny C is out:
Quote:

On Halloween, the Brain Tree was asked about what kind of spooky things could be expected in the near future.

"Most fright noon!" the Brain Tree replied.

"What does that mean?" you asked.

"Most fright noon!" the Brain Tree repeated. "If I told you what it means, this wouldn't be a Lenny Conundrum!"

"Can you give me a hint?" you asked.

"Hidden in the phrase 'Most fright noon' is something that will be coming soon."

What is the Brain Tree trying to say is coming?

Fairly easy anagram. Check your Neopian calendar Smile

I was pretty surprised at how easy this one was. Unfortunately for me, my internet decided to chose today to stop working and so I'll be too late to get the avatar/prize. I was a bit reluctant to put in the MONTH OF STORING when I figured it out because its already the Month of Storing and the LC is about what will be coming. However, I couldnt find any other anagrams in 'most fright noon' so "Month of Storing" was my answer. Way too easy of a Lenny Conundrum.

Hey, you're right. I didnt notice that, I just remembered how I saw it on the 3rd of November, which was already three days into the Month of Storing. I need to pay more attention to the LCs from now on Wink

Mystery Picture Competition
A new Mystery Picture game will be launched every Wednesday and Friday in Neopets! We will upload a picture that appears somewhere on the site. It is up to you to guess what the picture is!

The contest will be judged shortly before the new one starts and everyone who submitted the correct answer will share a piece of the 2,000,000 Neopoint prize pool! And the first 250 people to correctly guess the Mystery Picture will also receive the following item:

Current Prize : Djuti
To enter, simply type in what you think the picture is. For instance if you think its the tail of a red Scorchio, then type in 'red scorchio tail'. You dont have to be exact with your description, as our computer program will try its best to match your words with the correct answer.

Current Competition Ends : Wednesday, November 8th

anybody know the answer to the mystery pic???

the one for november 8th?
