Humans may be unique in that the genes of the brain appear to have evolved very rapidly ,according to professor Lahn at the University of Chicago.

Yeh, I heard this before. Almost a year ago I think, but I can't remember the original article.

I also remember some interesting connections between brain evolution and linguistic acquisition which were implied by research being done with a particular family of individuals in Brittain who have a genetic abnormality which prevents them from being able to speak/communicate.
