Grasshopper Identification ~ Vancouver, British Columbia

Reply Fri 29 Sep, 2017 01:48 am
I saw this, and many other grasshoppers out in British Columbia (near Vancouver) today. I will be attempting to learn the different kinds that I saw - starting with this one. Researching it online has provided me with possible answers and more questions. I saw on a list that Melanoplus ponderosus is a species found in British Columbia - and this looked like a promising match. However most other information I found on the species says that its range is the southern states... Any help to clarify is greatly appreciated!

I apologize about the intro and outro... not meant to annoy or self promote here...
