If the sentence below is correct, may I use "done" and "finished" interchangeably?

1) When you're DONE / FINISHED with the paper, throw in/into the bin.

By the way, should I use "in" or "into"?

Both are more or less correct, although you would say "throw it in the bin". Done is more common in US English, finished in British English.

When you have finished reading the newspaper, put it in the bin.

I have to say that it is very unlikely that I would ever utter those words to anyone.
