It kind of bothers me, to be honest. I don't start threads unless it's something I consider noteworthy, so when hardly anyone responds, (I know I shouldn't, but) I take it a little personally.

It is strange how we take little things like a post personally isnt it!! Laughing
I think this is the " comfort thread" where we come when our 'posting egos' are hurt. Laughing

Oh yeah.
I have been called a gay loving witch. I have been condemned to hell, I have been told that I am uneducated.. you name it.. it has been thrown at me. BUT I usually leave the threads when sh*t hits the fan like that so it usually doesnt go beyond one or two posters.
Fighting with people just isnt worth my time or energy. I, unlike some of the other people, realize that there is a little black X on the top right hand of the screen that is SCREAMING to be clicked when I dont like something. Laughing And with that option, I hold more power then anyone with nasty words.

All I know it's hard for me to take much personally in "real life," rather than getting worked up over someone posting on my threads.

The world is here for MY entertainment...

A2K had threads discussing this issue. I attempted to find you a link, but when I searched, I found that there were quite a number of threads that concerned this subject.

I know whatchya mean 'bout killin' threads, Phoenix - seems to me I'm good at that too Rolling Eyes :lol

It is a shame some folks seem unable to distinguish between attackin' a postion and and attackin' the presenter. The way I figure it, anyone who resorts to name-callin' and tauntin' and flamin' and such has no argument to bring to the table and thinks the only way to get the attention they crave is to set about messin' up the table for everyone else ... sorta like the toddler throwin' the vegetables all over the place 'cause the dinner conversation is focussed elsewhere than toward the highchair. Some folks oughtta learn to bring their brains up to speed before engagin' their keyboard.

timber- I like your analogy. The picture in my mind of the tot with smears of vegetables on his face, throwing food, is priceless!

When no one responds to a bon mot of mine, I just picture
myself as Fozzie Bear saying "Am I too hip for the room?"
